Know a boat’s history before you sign
Enter a hull number. If the owner keeps their logbook on BoatRealm, you’ll see what’s on file and can get the full service report with their approval.
The 12-character HIN is on the transom, starboard side, and on the title and registration.

Questions
What’s in a Hull Facts report?
Every service record the owner has logged: dates, the work done, who did it, parts, engine hours, and which entries are backed by a receipt or the yard that did the work. Costs are included only if the owner chooses. You can read it online, print it, or save it as a PDF.
How much does it cost?
$29 per boat. Most owners allow reports, so you can pay and open it right away. A few approve each request first, and then you pay only once they do. You can look up a hull number and see the free summary as often as you like.
I’m selling my boat. Why does BoatRealm keep the report fee?
BoatRealm gives owners its tools for free: the digital logbook, receipt scanning, the service QR code for your mechanic, your providers list, the Hull Record, the service records PDF, messaging buyers, and listing your boat on Test the Waters. The report fee is what pays for all of it. What you get from every sale is a serious buyer: you’re told who paid to see your boat’s history and why, and if your boat is listed they land in your inbox so you can reply.
Can I keep my records private?
Yes. When you add your boat you allow reports, and you can switch to approving each request yourself under Edit boat. Your name and contact details are never in a report, costs are left out unless you add them, and you’re emailed every time one is bought. On a listing you also choose whether the service log shows free or stays in the report.
Does the owner see my contact details?
The owner sees your name, company and reason for asking. Buyers never see the owner’s name, email or phone. If you buy the report for a boat that’s for sale, the seller can message you through BoatRealm.
Do you work with dealers, lenders and insurers?
Yes. If you need reports for many boats, email support@boatrealm.com.
